CALL FOR ALUMNI COUNCIL MEMBERS
The Tisch West Alumni Council is seeking alumni from all departments to join its 2009-2010 Alumni Council. Alumni from the following departments are strongly encouraged to apply:
Art & Public Policy/Arts Politics, Cinema Studies, Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, Dance, Design for Stage & Film, Interactive Telecommunications, Moving Image Archiving & Preservation, Graduate Musical Theatre Writing and Performance Studies.
The 2009-2010 term begins August 2009 and continues through July 2010. The Council meets once a month, with a winter hiatus (December 2009/January 2010) and mandatory attendance of no less than 6 meetings a year. Council members are required to vote on programming proposals twice a year and new members once a year. Additionally, members are asked to participate in sub-committee projects (Tisch West Cinema Club, Writers Lab West, etc.) and encouraged to spearhead their own.

MISSION STATEMENT
NYU Tisch West is an alliance of LA based alumni from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. NYU Tisch West exists to increase the visibility of Tisch alumni working in the entertainment industry and to create professional inter-departmental collaborations and cross-generational relationships between alumni. NYU Tisch West is headed by The Tisch West Alumni Council, a working board that serves as 1. the link between LA alumni and Tisch; 2. the organizational arm for fundraising efforts in LA and 3. a bridge to ease the transition for alumni from East Coast to West -- the classroom to the entertainment business.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED

2. Find "Tisch West" on Facebook; you are strongly encouraged to register with the Tisch West Facebook group.
3. Use the link on the right "Alumni CareerConnections" to subscribe to the career development listserv.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Tisch West Cinema Club needs volunteers for its screening: June 27, July 25, August 29 and September 26. Volunteer now and you’ll get free admission to the screening for which you volunteer and one future screening. We need help from 1:00 - 7:00 PM. To volunteer, e-mail Alex Berger, westphillyberger@yahoo.com. Screenings are hosted at AFI Mark Goodson Screening Room, 2021 N. Western Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027 and start at 3:00 PM sharp with a short film program followed by the feature film, Q&A and reception.
