Drama Alumni Association (DramAA) Launch

A celebration of the launch of DramAA and chance to enjoy food, drinks, and giveaways! A variety of industry representatives were on hand to offer their services to Drama alumni. A variety of master teachers, coaches, publishers, and other resources donated prizes for the occasion and shared how their specialized resources can help Drama Alumni with their continuing professional and artistic development. The NYU Tisch Drama Alumni Association (DramAA) seeks to promote inclusion of the Drama alumni body through professional and enrichment opportunities for actors, directors and production designers.

Creative competitions launched to find world-changing ideas, discovers rockstars of social innovation and make changing the world fun for everybody. Because serious problems need exciting solutions. The conversation covered the recent competition that looked at fashion – because it matters to everybody, not just models, magazines and style mavens.
Tisch Study Abroad Alumni Group Launch

Brad Lautenbach '03 (BFA, Kanbar, F&TV) shared his journey and how his Tisch study abroad experience shaped it. It's led him from one legendary institution to another. After 9|11 and a summer internship at ABC, Lautenbach fell in love with news. Soon, he opted for the Tisch Study Abroad program at the BBC. From a solo drive into Northern England, a sudden trip to Tunisia, and an interview inside a stately English manor, it was at the BBC that he was given responsibility for the first time. Lautenbach shared how his BBC experience prepared him to walk into The White House for an interview with President George W. Bush; for an MBA at Harvard; a stint at Walt Disney Imagineering; and to lead a startup in the Silicon Valley that marries everything he loves about storytelling.

Directed by Bennett Miller '89 (Kanbar, F&TV); produced by Michael De Luca '95 (BFA, Kanbar, F&TV) and Scott Rudin (Tisch Dean's Council) and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman '89 (BFA, Drama).
