The mission of Writers Lab West is to foster the artistic excellence of NYU Alumni in the Los Angeles entertainment industry and to celebrate their continued achievements. Focusing on the art of writing, our goal is to create a community that both promotes internal collaboration and facilitates the integration of our members into the professional landscape. exciting programs from Writers Lab West.

 

Screenwriting Workshop

Writers Lab West will shortly begin accepting submissions to be

considered for an intensive 12-week  Screenplay Workshop.

Participants will have a chance to hear their work read by NYU actors

and get feedback from fellow NYU writers.  The recent Television Pilot

Writing Workshop also featured feedback from industry guests.  For

3rd Annual New TV Writers & Actors Showcase - March 2009

NYU writers and actors join forces to present a can't-miss evening

full of up-and-coming talent.  Last year's event was standing room

Pitch Workshop

Hone your pitching skills and get tips for telling your story in an

entertaining way from industry professionals.  For more information,

Shorts Workshop leading to a Shorts Bootcamp

This projected program will hone short scripts to be produced using

talent from across the Tisch disciplines.  Because of the cost, this

is currently a long-term goal for Writers Lab West.
